Why Watertown is important to me
Dear District B Voter,
Over 20 years ago, my husband, Paul Strother, and I bought our home on Boyd Street. We’ve raised our two daughters, Grace and Kip, and a couple of Labrador Retrievers here. We benefited from Watertown's public schools, diverse neighborhoods, river walks, playing fields, and library. We put down deep roots into our community. We love being part of the Watertown community.
I want to ensure that Watertown continues to provide other families with the same opportunities – this is why I am running for Town Councilor in District B.
Watertown faces difficult decisions as we negotiate the changing economy. I will work for a town budget this is fiscally responsible and fair. I will use my experience with federal and state funding to seek new revenues for the town. I will promote business investment that preserves Watertown's character and expands our tax base. I am strongly committed to energy efficiency, recycling and a greener Watertown.
Importantly, I am committed to listening to your concerns and working hard to tackle the problems we face everyday in our neighborhoods – with parking, traffic, trees and green spaces, sidewalks and curbs. By fixing these, we can improve Watertown for everyone.
