A committed Watertown Family
- Resident and homeowner in Watertown for over 20 years. Cecilia and her husband, Paul Strother, have lived on Boyd Street for more than 20 years. Over the years they have remodeled their Victorian home to suit the needs of their growing family and to restore its historical character.
- Involved parent in the Watertown schools. Their two children either graduated from or currently attend Watertown Public Schools, Grace is at Tulane University and Kip is a sophomore at Watertown High and involved in track.
- Key member for Watertown Library Building Commitee. Cecilia worked for four years as a key member of the group that planned and oversaw the successful expansion and renovation of our library.
- Educated as a plant ecologist and environmental scientist.
- Avid gardener. An enthusiastic gardener of both plants and vegetables, Cecilia has gardened without pesticides or chemicals for over 20 years.
- Member, Watertown Citizens for Environmental Safety.

Extensive experience with federal and foundation grants. Cecilia directed several multi-million dollar projects with funding from such federal agencies and other organizations, including the National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Education, National Institutes of Health and the Smithsonian Institution, to bring technology into public schools within the Commonwealth and nationwide.
